6 May 2010, we took the elevator up Monchsberg hill for this wonderful view of Salzburg.
Maria from the "Sounds of Music" was right when she sang "the hills are alive".
Salzburg is surrounded by hills, any of the hills provided glorious view of the city.
We chose the Monchsberg because it was close to our apartment opposite the Augustiner Brau beergarden. When it grew dark we hiked down to the Augustiner for beer and dinner.
The shopping street "Getreidegasse" where we found our favourite shops - Nordsee (seafood) and Crystalp (Austrian crystal).
